How I went from unknown to #1 Social Seller
And how you can too
Saturday and Charlotte’s Sales Shares #16 is out!
Hello to 1196 people and 45 newbies since the last week’s edition who have decided to keep it real, authentic and actionable.
This one is a 2 minute read on how content creation is a MUST for every Seller in 2023 and beyond. I went from unknown 18 months ago to #1 social seller on LinkedIn (my SSI score on Sales Nav). It was a combination of actions that got me to that spot. One was posting consistently every week.
There are 2 types of social selling. Indirect and Direct. Creating content is “indirect”
But I don’t know what to write
I don’t think people will engage
I wonder what my colleagues will think
These are all what I call part of self limiting beliefs. It’s that voice in your head that wants to hold you back and keep you in your comfort zone. Overthinking and fear will not win you more deals. It will do the exact opposite.
Posting regularly means you get ATTENTION in the short term
Posting consistently means you build credibility in the long term. It’s this way that prospects trust you.
Your prospect wants a meeting with you because you have built credibility not because you have a lot of attention.
Stay the same, don’t post and you will miss out on sales. The statistics don’t lie:
Salespeople who share content on LinkedIn sell 45% more
How?
95% of buyers choose a business who provide them with sufficient value before purchasing.
Bigger still: content shared by a person gets 561% more views than content shared by the organisation.
It’s not enough to ignore social selling anymore.
You can rise to be a top Social Seller in no time. It will make it 2 x times easier to book meetings. You then create more opportunities to hit quota and double your income.
If you’re stuck here are 3 things you can do to start:
1. Share an observation - could be something specific to your industry
2. Talk about a recent win - a sale you won, what did you learn?
3. Talk about a recent failure - what would you do differently to get a better outcome next time?
That’s all. Keep the posts simple.
Got a surprise for you….stay tuned.
