The Follow Up email with a 40% reply

to avoid stuck deals

Saturday and Charlotte’s Sales Shares #19 is out!

Hello to over 1.4k people since the last edition who have decided to keep it real, authentic and actionable.

This one is a 2 minute read on how to get a reply when following up with a prospect. Ever felt like you’re just not advancing deals and you get tired when after 4, 5 or 6 attempts there is no reply

Youre not alone. Sellers fear follow up. We don’t want the bad news of a no answer, we fear we may be seen as pestering or pressurising.

But this is a recipe for losing deals. On average it takes 6/8 attempts to get a response from a prospect. In all my 2 decades of selling, I was never told off for being too pushy or persistent. In fact, several prospects thanked me for not giving up on them. They got busy, my emails got lost, they couldn’t take my calls.

Then like magic after the 10th, 15th or 20th or so attempt, they finally responded. And its on those many follow up attempts that I closed the deal. Once was $50k, the other was $75k

There are 5 pillars to strong follow up emails:

Subject line: “Have you given up on this project?”

(Strong, appeals to ego, no one wants to feel they’ve given up)
